PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Social Affairs has announced the upcoming closure of the social assistance cash program for families affected by the floods. Beneficiaries are able to file any complaints on this matter up to one week from the date of notification (18 March 2023).

This announcement was made by the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation on Friday, 10 March 2023.

According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Cambodian government's cash social assistance program for vulnerable families affected by the floods ran from 10 December 2022 to 10 March 2023 and successfully supported 99,169 flood-affected families (372,859 people) with a total of more than 46 billion riel.

All beneficiaries of the social assistance program for flood-affected families will still continue to benefit from the cash assistance program for families affected by inflationary pressure. The second time cash assistance will be provided under this program is on 10 April 2023, however, under a new account number, as notified by the National Social Assistance Fund.
